Ethnic profiling is DANGEROUS!!

We are all individuals and should be judged on our character and our integrity as a human, regardless of what language we speak, what we look like, what ethnic group we were born into etc. There are good and bad people in every place, just as stupidity or evil is not restricted to one ethnic group or one location only. Wisdom takes time to know a person, to ask informative questions before jumping in with conclusions - or worse. We refer to the tragic case of a young man called Abdullahi Bello who was beaten to death because he was mistaken for a Fulani man. He was not a Fulani, he was just pale skinned and so he resembled the Fulani a little. But even if he was a Fulani, it is not right to attack someone with suspicion just because of how they look. Abdullahi's death is a tragedy on so many levels, for his family and friends, but it is also a tragedy that basic human decency is being threatened in Nigeria. We ALL have a responsibility to live in peace, to create harmony, to reach out to those who are different to us in love and curiosity, not in hate and fear. We must all do better today and make a difference where we can, building strong communities of unity in times of peace so that in times of stress we can remain strong together.

Abdullahi Bello was brutally murdered on around the Rantiya community in Jos South LGA of Plateau State 28th June 2026. Apparently the mob thought he was a Fulani man walking in the area.

WHOLE TRUTH NIGERIA is a small multi-denominational group of Nigerians from different tribes and missionaries from different countries and organisations who have been living and working full time for decades in the middle belt and north of Nigeria.  We have a particular heart to help those who are misrepresented in the English speaking press.  We do not condone violence by any ethnic group or against any ethnic group. We are concerned about the rise in ethnic hatred and that attacks, kidnappings and devastation to life, animals and property goes largely unreported and undocumented depending on the ethnicity of the victims.

WHOLE TRUTH NIGERIA longs for

ALL voices to be heard:

Christian and Muslim, farmer and herder,

English speaking and non-English speaking

ALL people to know justice:

farmers and herders,

Christians and Muslims

ALL violence to be condemned,

including the many violent attacks done by “Christian” communities

against Fulani, their homes and their animals (i.e. their livelihood) so that

ALL people can live in peace and harmony
